I’m Coming Out of the Closet

January 28th, 2010

It took me three hours, but by the time I conquered the closet I was able to fling that door open wide and leap out with my arms spread wide.  Which was a good thing really, because Lady Gaga was blasting throughout the house and I was compelled to yell along, "I want your love and I want your revenge, you and me could write a bad romance" at the top of my lungs.  The dog was terrified and ran for the living room, the cat chose to hide in an empty Ziploc baggies box.

But I digress….I own that closet now.  I smacked it up, flipped it and rubbed it down (that's for my girlie TopSurf) and now it is beautiful..the proof is in the pictures. Pardon the yellowish tones, I can't seem to get enough light in the hall.

Oh Lord, the boxes, the little used appliances and my bright pink exercise ball that I thought may have been popped by the dog….it's all gone now! One gigantic black garbage bag, a full trunk load of recycling and another huge garbage bag o'stuff for Goodwill later the closet is perfect.

Look at all the extra room! The blankets and extra mattress covers in their lovely plastic zippy bags. We have a lot of mattress pads and I'm not sure why.  There are at least three per mattress in this house. Weird.

Notice the neatly lined up paper products to the right.  Thanks to Costco, we are ready for a zombie apocalypse.  Seriously, I've read and seen I Am Legend.  Those things were some scary mofos.  If my family has to barricade itself in the house for a few years, the last thing anybody wants is to run out of toilet paper. I think we're safe for a good decade or so as long as we implement square rationing.

You can't see it in that picture, but my sheets look awesome. You don't have to take my word for it, see for yourself.

As of last night, I have moved 4 projects to the DUNZO!!!! column of my KanBan board and could not be happier! The fourth project was finished late yesterday – organizing my TBR book pile.  I have exactly 200 books waiting to have their spines cracked and lucky for them, I specialize in book chiropractory. (Yes, I just made the word up. Shut it.) Maybe all that extra space in the linen closet will come in handy if I get the urge to splurge at the bookstore!
