Take Me Out To the Ballgame
January 16th, 2010
It's time again…for softball! Today is sign up day for our local little league group and I am so excited! Aidan had so much fun playing t-ball last year, but this year we move up to coach pitch ball. We're off for sign ups this morning and I am crossing my fingers that we get the team we want!
I'm looking forward to more shots like this
and fun with friends like these
Last year every kid on Aidan's team was a friend of ours already. The boys had a blast playing together since they already got along so well and really worked together as a team. I hope our team is as full of awesome as they were last year! We all look forward to the end of the season in May (we quit before it's eleventy jillion degrees here in the desert) awards ceremony. Little League is a pretty major thing in our little town and it's so cool to see how many kids play year after year, graduating from t-ball to coach pitch ball to actual baseball as they get older. Hopefully this year the little kids get trophies instead of medals!! Woo hoo! I'm going to need to build a trophy case in Aidan's room. OK, maybe I'll hold off on that for another few years.
It's time to dust off the bat and glove and go practice. It's game time everyone!

Oh, how sweet. I have pictures just like those because my son was a Cardinal his rookie years (7/8). Memories. He's 14 now, and playing middle school ball. I LOVED our little league years, I really miss them.

That is awesome!! Those times make for great memories that's for sure. Jennifer played for 1 year we got tired of watching her dance in the infield and play with the rocks on the field, that's when we knew it wasn't for her. LMAO

Rena wants to try out for the school softball team this year. I have to call Monday and get her in for a physical, stat! I hope she makes it … if not, it'll break her little heart. It's already been broken by her most recent "boyfriend" this week. She can't take another heartbreak for at least another year!
