It’s Almost Over
December 7th, 2009

I had a conversation with Bossman this morning to finalize the arrangements for the consulting fee that will keep me working a few hours a week from home through the first few months of the year. That was it. It’s done. I have seven more 4:07 a.m. wake up calls, a few days in the office between Christmas and New Year’s Eve that will be spent in jeans, moving files around and cleaning out my office.
In 24 days I will officially be a stay at home mom. I am excited and I am scared. I have a few things I want to try and get up and moving to generate a bit of income to replace what we are losing, but mostly I am looking forward to finishing school and having the opportunity to participate in school activities with Aidan.
The prospect of being able to get all of the house stuff – cleaning, laundry, organizing – done during the week so that our weekends can be spent having fun thrills me.
Knowing that I may start sleeping again and believing that more sleep = more energy = more creative spark makes me do a little happy dance in my chair.
I’m on the downhill side…..only 24 days to go.

I love being a stay home mom. I hope you enjoy it too although it does take some adjusting!

Good for you! I’m so happy it’s finally happening. You deserve to do what makes you happy, not put up with all that crap from the bossman and 4:07 wake-up calls.
